I previewed the album "here i am" earlier and there are 6-7 REALLY good songs on the album.... "The Hangover part 2" grossed $86.5m in its opening weekend; making it the biggest comedy opening ever! To date it has grossed $137m. The movie cost $80m to make, so it has more than made that back. "Bridesmaids" is another film that has created quite a buzz for itself. So far it has grossed $89m, cost $32m to make and 21 screens have been added; giving it a total of 2,958 screens nationwide. "Jumping the broom" is number nine this week with $36m total grossed so far.

Keyshia Cole is back with another single from her album "Calling all hearts". This is actually my favorite song from the album. It has a nice beat, it's playful/fun and Keyshia looks great.

She can still do promo and sell albums. This is definitely a song for the summer and she can perform it on the today show, regis and kelly, wendy williams, etc. I've always liked Keyshia, so I'm interested in seeing how creative her people can get with the promo.

BET has a lot of interesting offerings for the new year with "Let's Stay Together" being just one of them. LST is about two couples and their relationships. One couple Bert Belasco and Nadine Ellis are newlyweds. Erica Hubbard (lincoln heights) plays Belasco's free spiritied younger sister who works at the DMV.

Joyful Drake plays a housewife and mother of two twins while Ronreaco Lee (who was tyreke scott on sister sister) plays her ambituous lawyer husband. The show looks promising and has a great cast of experienced actors.
Hopefully "the game" and "let's stay together" will start a trend of black shows on television. Back in the '90s/early '00s there were lots of black shows: soul food, martin, in the house, girlfriends, etc. So let's see how this show does!

Madonna is opening a gym on Friday in Mexico City called "Hard Candy Fitness Center", but the gym doesn't have a "security plan, a certificate showing it has parking and a land use permit" the olympian.
The gym is reported to cost $800 or so to join with $150 per month membership fee. This entire story gets a big "bwahaha". Like seriously, why would you open a gym without permits and proper paperwork? You can't just travel somewhere and open up a business. You have to plan things out, meet with local officials, learn about the culture, etc.
Mexico city is the most populous city in The Americas, so there are definately people who go to the gym. Not sure how many people would pay $150 to Madge's gym though. Why not allow people to register online, randomly draw names and have a special preview day where people can come in and check out the gym for free? The article says that she charged a select group $100 to participate in a dance class that she was teaching. This is definately a money making venture and hats off to her for that, but you also have to be logical and make sure that your business is in order. Madonna seems to have changed a bit since the day when she was voguing in the basements of grundgy New York clubs with Trévon and Antonio.

R Kelly premiered this song last week at the soul train awards. This song has gotten uniformly positive reviews from people who have heard it. R Kelly really does have a gift for writing music and arranging songs which is something the music industry is severely lacking right now. The good thing about Kelly is that he writes most, if not all, of his music. This is probably one of the main reasons that his fans have been so loyal over the last 2 decades.
The video is black and white and features R Kelly singing on a stage, among other locales. It has a very retro feel and simple, yet elegant styling.

Rihanna recently released a second single from her new cd "Loud". This single, entitled "Whats My Name" features Rihanna along Hip-Hop's newest rising star Drake. "Loud" debuted last week at number three on the Billboard charts. After the performance of "Rated R" last year, the label was trying to promo this album everyway that they could. Rihanna was on The Seven, 106 and Park, SNL, X-Factor, MTV music awards and just about every other program out there.

The video features Drake and Rihanna as a couple of star-crossed lovers. Rihanna happens to run into Drake at a bodega and a dalliance quickly ensues. The pair find themselves in an apartment enjoying eachother's company.
The song was produced by Stargate, Ester Dean and Aubrey Graham (aka Drake). Nice to see Rihanna returing to her Caribbean roots that so many fans like.

The single art and album art are quite racy. On the single cover for "Only Girl" Rihanna is featured wrapped in nothing more than a fur coat. Her performance outfit on the American Music Awards was shocking. Rihanna (and her handlers) should understand that people will buy the music whether she's wearing a fur-coat or a three-piece business suit because Rihanna has made such a name for herself as a singer. The only thing about wearing barely there outfits on stage is that you have to take off more and more clothes each time to get the desired reaction. Eventually this will leave you void of both clothing and dignity.

Entertainers should realize, and actually care about, the fact that they are representing our people on a global scale . Some countries have little to no Black population so they are basing their opinions of us on the programming that they are seeing through their televisions. The good thing is, Rihanna is still young and has the time to turn her career around.

Ricky Blaze is really making a name for himself in the music industry. He started out in Brooklyn's competitive dancehall scene, once he proved himself there he moved onto touring around the world in places like Brazil and Japan. He's produced tracks for such artists as tony matterhorn, elephant man and red cafe. Ricky also had a track out several years ago that got a lot of spins called cut dem off. Now he's back with a new track called "Just You and I".
The beat to this song might sound familiar, that's because Blaze actually produced the original beat that gyptian used for hold yuh. This song is about a guy who is interested in a gyal and he wants to tell her how he feels about her. The video features Ricky walking on the beach with his love interest.

Lloyd is back with a fourth studio effort entitled "king of hearts". This will be his first effort on the Zone 4/Interscope imprint. Seems like a smart move for Lloyd because polow da don is very involved in his artist's careers and giving them the best singles. The Zone 4 roster is young and diverse (Keri Hilson, Ester Dean, Roscoe Dash, Lloyd, etc) so they've got a built in audience there. Keri and Ester are responsible for writing a fair number of songs between the two of them for artists like Britney, Christina, Rihanna, Usher, Mary J Blige, etc.

The first single from the album is called "lay it down". The song features a Patti LaBellle Sample and has a nice beat to it. It centers around a guy telling his lady that he wants her to lay down in bed and get amorous with him. I do like the part at the 2:00 mark where he references safe sex. The song is about 1 octave too high. If he could bring it down a bit, it might have more resonance with the listeners because they could understand every word that he was saying and it would be a bit smoother.

In the video Lloyd and his female companion decide to go out for the evening. As they're making their way through the party Lloyd has a quick toast with Keri Hilson and Polow Da Don at the 1:15 mark.
He meets back up with his date around the 1:50 mark to flatter her with coquetish overtures.
At the 2:31 mark Lloyd decides to do the shoulder bounce, made famous by '90s rnb group Total.
After the party, they come home to an orchestra in the foyer of their residence. She walks past the orchestra like this is oldhat for them and something that she is used to seeing on a daily basis (though, most people don't have an orchestra in their foyer...)
The video is good overall, the song is a strong lead single and Lloyd looks great. If this single is any indication, the album is definately going to be worth a listen.

Courteney Cox and David Arquette have split after 11 years of marriage.
The couple broke up weeks ago, according to sources, but Cox and Arquette have agreed to stay friends as they work together on the upcoming Scream sequel.

Courteney and David released the following statement to Life & Style magazine:
"We have agreed to a trial separation that dates back for some time. The reason for this separation is to better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage. We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply. As we go through this process, we are determined to use kindness and understanding to get through this together. We are comfortable with the boundaries that we have established for each other during this separation and we hope that our friends, family, fans and the media also show us respect, dignity, understanding and love at this time as well."

It's a well known fact that Jennifer Aniston can be blamed for most of the things that are wrong in the world, but this case hits particularly close to home because Jennifer starred along side Courtney on "Friends" in the 1990s. While working together they became close "friends" and started hanging out together. Jennifer hopped from guy to guy while Courtney got married and became a mother. From the begining, it was obvious that Aniston wanted to have a "no boys allowed" club with Courtney, but Courtney's marriage interfered with that. But now, her wish has been granted, she has Courtney all to herself.
Everyone is probably thinking the exact same thing though. The really important issue at hand is whether there is any possibility that "Dirt" can be brought back to network television? It was a great show with great characters and storylines.

New music: only girl-rihanna

Rihanna is back with yet another hot track. "Only Girl" is set to be the first single from Fenty's 5th studio album: "Loud" (set to be released mid-november). The single will be released to U.S. radio in 13 days. The song centers around a girl who wants her guy to make her feel special and cherished. She is return will do things like; make sure that she knows his heart, make him feel like a man, etc.

The song is definately very danceable and upbeat. Should do very well in the U.S. market and especially in Europe. The album overall sounds like it is going to be more fun/youthful and lighter than her preview album "Rated R", which really was a good album. The only thing that messed up the sales was the order in which the singles were released... "Hard" should have been first (it's upbeat and just the type of image that she would want to project after the event that happened earlier in the year), then "Rude Boy", "Te Amo" (there was room for cross-over into the latin market w/ a single like that. she could have performed it at some latin new years celebrations, etc). and then they could have kinda played around w/ the order of the next singles, b/c by then the public wud have been eating out of her hand...

Just hope Rihanna is taking control of her career, calling the shots, educating herself on the different aspects of the industry and not just being a product. When you're at a level such as hers, it's easy to not focus on the small things, but you definately need to be in creative/financial/conceptual control of your career. Def Jam did a really good job of sticking with her and crafting an image for her, but what can she do to maintain that image and take it to the next level?

Jeremih is back with a brand new single called "I like". The single hit radio June 1st and his been bubbling just under the surface. It's actually a pretty catchy song.
The song features Ludacris, and is actually kind of interesting in that Jeremih does one verse, then Luda and then that's it. Just wondering how this song is going to work when he is on tour. Either way Jeremih is a talented artist and all around smart dude (he attended Columbia university) so he'll be able to work something out no doubt.
Jeremih has a very unique sound: similar to an early usher with a little michael jackson mixed in...
The video is set on a yacht, video girls, alcohol, hype williams split screen effect was used so he probably directed this one.

This single was released to radio mid-summer and the video was released early this week. The song was penned by jazmine sullivan and missy elliott among several overs. Doug E. Fresh's "la di da di", and Mary J Blige's "be happy" are among the songs sampled for the track. The actual song itself is good. It has a hot beat and Jazmine's unique sound really melds well with the different elements of the song. That being said the actual song is a little bit busy with different samples and sounds. It's almost as if they would have left 1 or 2 of those sounds out, the listener could focus more on Jazmine's vocal abilities.
The video itself starts out with Jazmine in front of a brownstone in what we are to assume is Brooklyn. While walking with her friends Jazmine catches her man making out with a girl in front of his house. He eventually calms Jazmine down and they go off together. Later in the video Jazmine goes to a late-80s/early 90s house party to take her mind off of the fact that she caught her boyfriend locking lips with another girl just days prior. While participating in a dance battle against 2 b-boys Jazmine turns around and catches her guy hugged up with a member of the fairer sex who is; surprise, surprise: not Jazmine. By this time is fed up and does what any self-respecting modern female would have done in the late-80s/early-90s; she gives her playboy extraordinaire one final kiss, hands over her 4-finger ring and bids him adieu. Pepa, Doug E. Fresh and Missy Elliott make cameos in the video.

Wyclef to run for press of Ayiti

Singer Wyclef Jean officially announced his bid to be president of Haiti to a roaring crowd of supporters on Thursday. Jean was sorrounced by supporters and family as he made his announcement.
Personally Jean might have a shot at winning the position. There is no doubt that Wyclef cares for his country and his people. That being said he just has to make sure he can get the job done because he potentially has the lives of millions in his hands. Many have tried to give up on Ayiti, but there are still alot of people out there who see huge promise for the country. But there are specific issues that the country has to deal with in order to advance. Ayiti needs french-speaking teachers whether they're Ayitian, Ayitian-American or African. They need to see how other Caribbean countries have brought themselves into first world status and hire some of those officials as consultants. These are just a few of the things that Ayiti needs to do. If Wyclef has a position open in his cabinet then by all means feel free to get in touch. B/c there is great promise in Ayiti and its people.

Wyclef Jean is reconsidering running for president of his devastated homeland Haiti, according to his charitable foundation.
The former Fugees star has been instrumental in ensuring the Haitians left homeless by the massive earthquake in January have aid, and has built temporary shelters through his Yele Haiti organization.
Jean's dedication and service prompted many to call for him to step into politics, but he initially shrugged off the idea, saying, "If I take a job being a president, I can't do as much as I'm doing for my country."

This is a very interesting story because Ayiti has a history of corruption and outside intervention [read: foreign leaders coming in and placing who they want in power...] Many people might be skeptical about his run for president, but you never know. There is obviously no doubt that he loves his country and his people. However when you're the president you have the lives of millions of people in your hands. You have to have a plan. What will you do when foreign companies come in and want to set up factories that are akin to sweatshops in your country? How do you build a strong infastructure in a country where the elite minority control the lives of the majority? If Wyclef would like some specific tips/tools on how to help the country, I would be more than willing to act as a consultant in any official capacity that they saw necessary to bring about the advancement and growth of Ayiti.

Estelle is back with a new single "Fall in Love" from her latest effort "All Of Me". The song is basically about a girl who sees a guy quite often and wants to fall in love with him. John Legend is featured on the song as well. The video is set in New York and basically centers around Estelle who sees a guy everyday when she passes his house. He just happens to be sitting in the window sill and sees her walking down the street. He is so awe struck by her that he ends up knocking his window blinds down, much to the amusement of Estelle. Later on she sees him walking down the street with his friends and the two are really into eachother. Later she walks past a carshop where he is working. Estelle is looking around for him and then knocks down a stack of tires, much to the dismay of his boss who must have an aversion to people knocking over his tires... They end up throwing a party at the tireshop.

Congratulations to Argentina! While this is a right that people should have always had, it's still exciting to see such progress being made. Argentina still has a long way to go in a fair number of areas though. The colorism, classism, sexism that occurs in South America has got to stop. Because if you plan to leave your country just remember the African proverb: "The son of a king is a slave everywhere else" or "A dog barks loudest in his own yard". Which means you might act up on your own turf, but that probably won't go over as well when you're in someone else's country.

Lindsay Lohan appeared in court today to answer for charges that she violated parole by missing a hearing by claiming that her passport had been stolen and she was stuck in France. Lohan really turned on the waterworks (have always said she was a great actress...), but the judge wasn't buying it. She basically said Lohan had shown disregard for the court, etc and that she wasn't in compliance with the court conditions that had previously been set for her.

Lisa Bloom (daughter to Gloria Allred; draw your own conclusions..) and her client, Michael Lohan were both at the hearing...

Lohan's lawyer Shawn Holley went toe to toe with prosecutor Danette Meyer, but at the end of the day...

Judge Marsha Revel remained tight-lipped and commanding (as evidenced by her dark eyeliner and no nonesense bangs). She ended up sentencing la lohan to 90 days in the pokey and 90 days in rehab afterwards...

There are solid songs on the album, lots of which are single-worthy. The video "Closer" is set in a roller disco club. Corinne is sorrounded by rollerskating dancers and shimmering streamers. The video showcases a more sensual side of Bailey as she is seen in a shimmering low cut dress. The clothing choices however are not too over the top and are in good keeping with the over all mellow mood of the song.

Steve Carell to leave The Office

Ricky Gervais refused to talk Steve Carell out of leaving the U.S. version of The Office - despite his departure scuppering lucrative syndication deals.
Carell has played embarrassing boss Michael Scott on the series since 2005, in a role based on Gervais' original star turn as David Brent in the hit British version of the show. Carell confirmed last month he doesn't plan to return to the series after its next season, and Gervais - executive producer of the show - insists it's the right decision even though it will cost the Brit future royalties.
On his blog, he writes, "Well it's official. Steve Carell will leave The Office after this next season. It was of course inevitable (and sad), but I wish him all the luck in the world. It was expected of me, as executive producer, to persuade him to stay on. With syndication in full swing, the more successful the show remains, the more billions we all make."

Good for Carell, the show really has run its course. This is due in part to the premise that the show is set on: a company that sells paper. It would be disingenuous for the show to act as if the economy wasn't affecting the sale of paper and honestly if there is a downturn in paper sales they wouldn't need as many employees (characters). Yes, the show has gone in a new direction, but most people are familiar with and liked the original premise of the show... The Jim and Pam saga is done and in the books, which happened to be why alot of people actually watched the show. Yeah they're trying to do the whole "Aaron and Andy romance", but those characters weren't there from the begining and most people don't identify with them like they did with Jim and Pam. If Gervais were smart, he'd give it one more season, tie up all the loose ends and call it a day. If he wants to be greedy and continue for 2 more seasons, then he will surely regret it. There is no show without Michael Scott. Imagine an episode without Steve Carell, it would be horrible! Yeah they could try and give Dwight his job, but that would be a disaster. It's honestly better to go off the air at the top then to go off as a laughing stock. Carell should take some acting classes if he wants to make a career as a movie star. What it take to be a comic is different than what it takes to be an actour, than what it takes to be a movie star... He tends to play it too big too often and go for the "zinger" laugh which works on the small screen, but doesn't always translate on the bigscreen. Gervais should go back to the drawing board and come up with some new ideas for movies and tv shows. It's not the end of the world...

Hawthorne season 2!

HawthoRNe is back for a second season on TNT and it's better than ever! Richmond Trinity (the hospital where Christina worked at) has closed so a fair number of the staff have been transferred to James River which is in just as bad a shape... Christina and Gail Strummer immedeatly got off to a bad start when they disagree about which patients should take priority.

The show is really good with one of the brightest aspects being Jada's character. Sometimes with mega-celebrities you have a hard time seperating their personal life from their career. With Jada however, she really devotes time to getting into her character; learning medical terminology, giving her character a unique voice, etc.
However the show might think about developing some other storylines in the future b/c you can't have Christina be involved in every single one. besides the main Christina storylines (which are her battle with Bobbie, her relationship with Tom, working as a chief nursing officer and raising a daughter) there is basically only the relationship between chamille and marcus and the relationship between male nurse Ryan and Dr. Marshall. Hopefully there will be a few more storylines in the future. Like why is everyone so nice to Bobbie, how has she been able to just scrape by for 20 years, does she have dirt on someone there? what are the skeletons? How about a bit more focus on the patient's individual stories and the community around the hospital. "Strong Medicine" would be a good model for the show to follow in that Rosa Blosi's character was the star of the show but there were always other storylines doing on whether it was the patients, the hospital administrators, the doctours, the patients or the community in general.

Christina's best friend Bobbie Jackson (pictured below in scrubs) also made the move to James River. Marcus is the ER clerk and he has taken a liking to Christina's daughter Chamille...

Christina and Tom are still trying to start out a relationship, but two years after her husbands death she doesn't feel that she is ready. So let's see how things work out over the season.

After taking a few years off Kelis to attend to business (business meaning getting married, having a baby, wearing [expletive] shirts to the grammys and getting divorced) Kelis is back with a new single "4th of july". The song is from kelis' latest effort "flesh tone" which is scheduled to be out July 6th stateside. The song has an umtempo dance feel. The video features Kelis out in the desert wearing different outfits (a head dress, a gold coloured gown, a multi coloured cocktail dress, bathing suits, etc.) the song is pretty good. Kelis has evolved alot since she was first introduced to the game. she has always been her own person and that's what her fan liked about her. The labels however couldn't "fit" her into the typical rnb/pop/rock mold so they struggled to market her. If "caught out there", "milkshake" and "bossy" had been promoed to their fullest extent then she shouldn't ever have to work another day in her life... But Kelis' fans value her passion and her individuality.

Bieber is back with another track from his "My World: 2.0". Basically what the labbel was trying to do was test the waters with his first "cd" (which could best be described as an lp or "cd sampler") and then decide if they were going to go full throttle behind him with promo and financing. Well as everybody knows Bieber has blown up (even having a disease named after himself!). The song is about Bieber desperately searching and pleading for the love of some "girl". Usher is added to the song for a little bit of flair. (honestly usher should have taken the track for himself because he slays his verse. his vocal maturity has really been on display on his last few albums). In the video he even attempts to dance.

-starting at :34 he brings out some of his own moves: the bunnyhop being one of them
- :44 he does the "super heavy firehose pull exercise"
- 1:58 ciara makes a 2-second cameo (she's currently running for congress on the "A check is a check" platform)

Overall Bieber isn't as annoying as most would like to paint him out to be. He's got a decent voice, stage presence and seems like a genuinely decent kid.. He just can't dance... Either way enjoy:

Rapper Paul Wall has lost 100 pounds after undergoing surgery for a quick fix to his "morbid" obesity.
The star reveals his unhealthy lifestyle caused him to pack on the pounds after rising to fame in 2005, and by the end of 2009, he tipped the scales at 320 pounds.
He attempted to turn his life around and embarked on a new diet and exercise regime, but Wall struggled to see any results - so he decided to go under the knife and get htgastric sleeve surgery, which shrinks the size of the stomach.
He tells BallerStatus.com, "I tried doing it the legit way. I stopped taking pills...all that, but it ain't work (sic). So I went out, went on and got surgery man."

Good for him, but with all the success and money that he has i'm sure he could have tried a few different routes to weightloss. The article uses the word "quick fix" which weightloss surgery surely is not. The weight wasn't put on over night and it shouldn't be taken off over night either. When someone loses weight that rapidly their skin starts to hang and sometimes they appear to have aged prematurely. Hopefully he can act as a spokesperson for the morbidly obese of this country and have an honest/frank discussion about his reasons for choosing to have the surgery.

Hot In Cleveland premiered last nite on TVLand. It's a show starring Jane Leeves, Wendie Malick and Valerie Bertinelli as three LA women who decide to throw caution to the wind and fly to France. The flight makes an emergency landing in Cleveland where the women are pursued by multiple men while at a bar. Based on the laidback atmosphere, interested guys and greasy bar foods the ladies decide to rent out a house and take up residence there. The caretaker of the house is none other than Betty White who is none too shy about sharing her opinions on different subjects.

After watching the pilot episode it's apparent that the show has great potential. The cast are all very strong actresses. However, the characters come off as way over the top and quite campy. One is an over the hill actress, one an author, and another owns an eyebrow waxing shop. The magic that "Golden Girls" had that this show lacks is versatility. It's like having three Blanches and a Sophia... The characters play so big: the clothes, the hair, the accents, the quips, everything! If they could make Valerie the Rose character, Jane leeves the bookish/Dorothy character and maybe Wendie the slutty/Blanche character then maybe it'll be a bit more interesting. and Betty White's character is great except she's basically there to deliver punchlines. Sophia was wise and peppered her punchlines with sage advise and stories about Sicily. With a little fine-tuning the show could be really good.

Gary Coleman has died as the result of injuries he suffered earlier this week, the hospital tells TMZ.
We've learned Gary's wife, Shannon, made the decision to pull life support early this AM.
We're told Coleman died at 12:05 PM MST. He died of a intracranial hemorrhage.

Coleman went through alot during his life, but he was a very hard worker and that's something that can never be taken away from him. When his money ran out instead of depending on someone else for a handout he went and got a job as a security guard. Alot of "celebrities" who haven't even had as much success as he has would scoff at the thought of working at something that they thought was beneath them. Diff'rent Strokes will live on and through that show a brand new generation will get to know Gary Coleman as an artist and not a punchline...

The two are in a dimly lit castle rolling around on the floor and being all artsy and what not when they decide to go outside (at this point rihanna switches into a flowery maxi-dress which is in contrast to the dark colours and tone of the overall video) and caress some more. then there's a dance scene. the concept of the video is pretty simple, but rihanna is being pretty sexual, the only thing about being sexual is that you have to continue to ratchet the sex up and there's no ending point... you'll wind up nude and having sex with animals if you're not careful.

The case (to take down an AWOL CIA agent) takes them allover the world, more specifically Europe. The trailer is great, it's shot like a movie trailer; the camera angles, the dramatic music, etc.

She walks around a bit, waves her arms, pretends to sail on a randomly placed boat and dancing around in glow in the dark paint with a snake. Ke$ha is to the 00's what coke was to the 80's and what plaidshirts were to the 90's: a total disaster that threatens to destroy everyone who come in contact with it. Ok so maybe she's not as bad as plaid shirts in the 90's but she is pretty bad... It's almost as if she's trying to be edgy and weird. the costumes, the lyrics, etc. she seems like she wants to be, dare i say it...Gaga?
Anyway, the song is summery and light. It would be better if there were a random dance scene mixed in. Maybe the dancers come from behind a giant rock while she's walking through the desert or something.

The homeless men he allegedly tried to hire to kill his wife claims he was told he had to "cut [a] woman's throat," according to TMZ. He reportedly said he wanted someone to do "dirty deeds done dirt cheap."

Sucks for him. I remember watching his show, it was decent... One of the first low calorie/weightloss type shows what Food Network ever featured in the early 00's. He was handsome on the show, the book cover really doesn't do him justice. Apparently he wanted to kill his wife because she couldn't have kids. Instead of trying invitro or adopting this guy decides to kill his wife. Something isn't right with him. But one thing that is right with him are his recipes which you can find on foodnetwork.com. Some of which if i remember from the show were quite tasty. Be careful of the desserts featuring artifical sweeteners though...

The shocking snaps show the house is desperately in need of a good tidy - the kitchen and living room are filled with crystals and stacks of papers and the couple's four dogs poop all over the place.

I honestly see this as a case of "turn about is fair play" because they fill millions of homes allover the world with shit [in the form of reality tv shows] and now their dogs are doing the same to them. That's not the image that viewers are being shown on tv. Especially when the show first started. Viewer were led to believe that these were cool, hip, rich kids and now we're hearing different rumors about the cast members and their parents... These two are grown, able-bodied adults and should either hire a cleaning service or actually do for self and clean the filthy mess up. It's all well and good if you want to have a pack of dogs living in your home but you have to clean up the mess that they make....

Drake has been out for awhile as an actour [on Degrassi and other programmes] and also as a rapper. Drake signed to young money last year and hasn't looked back since! all of his songs have been well received by his fans. This track was obviously produced by kanye. in fact it sounds exactly like something you would have heard on kanye's last album... The video for "find your love" was shot in Jamaica. The plot is basically he's down in Jamaica recourding and he meets this girl who is also the girlfriend of a big time shotta. he is all in love with her so he goes to the boyfriend's compound to "rescue her". As luck would have it the boyfriend just happens to be walking by w/ a group of his dudes so they take him inside, tie him up and make the girlfriend shoot him... OR DO THEY? hmm... guess you'll have to just watch the video to find out...

First off Sade is 51 and looks great! Her muscles are lean and defined which leads one to think she probably does pilates.
The video looks like it was shot in the Caribbean or maybe Africa (based on the architecture) but it could have possibly been shot in the UK... The song is about a woman who meets a guy at a bus stop, has a fling and ends up having a kid. Sade is basically saying that you're father loves you, and he does the best that he can for you. The video features Sade as a sweets stand lady who is in her kitchen making desserts and treats for the neighbourhood children. they gather out in her yard to see what she is going to prepare for them. She makes jell-o with fruit in it (though, when you're making jell-o it's best to let it congeal 50% THEN add the fruit instead of at the very begining b/c it will just sink to the bottom).
The idea of single motherhood is not something that should be celebrated. people do the best that they can with what they know and what they have at the same. But just because you're dating someone for a little while doesn't mean that you should necessarily have a kid with them. that's a message that should be gotten across to everyone.

The video is fun and cool. Wasn't especting to see Beyonce smoking, drinking alcohol or wearing such skimpy outfits... As most of you all know by now, Haiti suffered a devestating earthquake earlier this week leaving the small island nation destroyed. Houses, buildings, roads, hospitals, etc; all gone. One quarter of the population of Haiti lived in the capital city of Pòtoprens (Port-Au-Prince) which was hit hardest. Countries are reluctantly sending aid to help out the Haitian people, but they need more!! They lost everything so the least we can do is donate $50,$100, or $1000 to the cause. We as African Americans (as well as dominicans, puerto ricans and cubans) are from the exact same part of Africa. We need to help OUR brothers and sisters out. Rihanna is back with her third single (Russian Roulette, Wait your turn, Hard) from her latest effort Rated R. The song is back, the beat is banging, the message is sassy and funky, but there's still something not quite right about it... Dont get me wrong, the song is very cool and it's going to be a hit, but it's like this whole breezy/riri situation has really taken away from both of their star power and their appeal. Look we don't know what went on in that car that nite or what led up to it, but still it seems as if they should have just sat out the year of 2009 and then came back mid-2010...
And instead of coming out slightly milder; rihanna turns up the sex appeal. magazine covers, lyrics, videos, etc. Personally i think she should have came out milder and probably would have sold even more recourds. This video for example; she could have possibly lead an all female army batallion and the audience would interpret it as; "female empowerment, strength, etc". but with the male soldiers it seems highly sexualized. Again; Rihanna and Chris Brown are both very much talented artists and I enjoy their music, but maybe they should have waited a bit longer, done counseling and worked on their music a bit more...

Reports are swirling around the net about the current status of rapper Shyne. Best known for his hit Bad Boyz ft barrington levy. Shyne was sentenced to 10-yrs in prison for attempted murder, assault, etc. After serving his sentence he is more than likely going to be sent home to his native Belize. I personally don't agree with this b/c he's lived in America for the majority of his life, his family is here, etc. BUT his father is the prime minister of Belize for grace's sake! Even though Shyne was a product of an affair, his father should still try and help him out.

Lady Gaga performed this past weekend on SNL and i very much enjoyed it! the costumes were different from the SNL performance, the dancers were really good, and the actual version of the song was different. i really liked the dancing b/c it was very abstract and imaginative while not being too difficult to learn. oh and the guy that comes out at the end is super hott as well. But how about cutting back on the costumes and saving some of that buck b/c [gaga] you don't want to be 50 yrs old, have 15 #1 singles under your belt and still be living in your parent's basement b/c you wasted all of your money.
I also wuden't mind seeing her wearing pants or atleast sumthin that covers her thighs. Gaga let's be honest; your fans are gay men they don't want to see you gyrating your ginger snap all up in the camera, okay?

Lincoln Heights is back for a FOURTH SEASON! The show is about a cop (Eddie), his wife (a nurse) and their three children. Well last season we found out that he has another son (that he had with a past girlfriend before he ever met his wife). so now the son lives with them. the son is a young cop whose on the same force as Eddie. Eldest daughter Cassie and her boyfriend Charles are being questioned by the police (but why?), Tay is ditching class to work at a chinese restaraunt, lizzie is in a new school (but how will that work out for her?), their house was damaged during an earthquake last season; will they move out to the suburbs or stay in the neighbourhood? Gotta watch "Lincoln Heights" mondays at 7pm on abcfamily to figure it all out!

jeremih (the man who brought you "birthday sex") is back with a third track from his freshman album. i really enjoyed listening to his album. i liked the general mellowness that was present thoughout the entire album. im not sure whose making the single choices though, b/c when i heard the album i was thinking "okay they're gonna do [birthday sex] b/c it's the hottest track as the lead single, then [that body] just to keep the grown and sexy vibe going, and then [jumpin] as a fun summer track for parties and the club", but i guess the label had other ideas. don't get me wrong, the album is hott so they couldn't really go wrong, but to maximize his exposure/appeal the label could have followed the song choices as i layed them out. labels don't seem to care about their audience's nowadays, they just want a warm body on stage to make them a bit of money. but if they could only remember; artist development, listening to the fan, etc are the keys to making an artist successful (which will in turn make you more money as a recourd label owner!)

KiD CuDi-Man On the Moon

Ohio rapper Kid CuDi released his debut album "man on the moon" this week. i gave the album a listen and i honestly quite liked it. it's very diverse; singing, rapping, spoken word, etc. The title of the album really trust me because the moon is considered a feminine/dark orb, with the sun being its counterpart. it might have been a subconcious choice for a title... CuDi's father passed when he was 11 and that really pained him, it's really evident in his music. Seems like when he was in highschool he had a hard time with fitting in and sometimes with insecurities. im glad he feels comfortable enough to show that vulnerable side of himself.
The album is filled with like 18 tracks (which is alot for nowadays!!), and i decided to post up one of my favourites; "in my dreams"

Paula Abdul reportedly demanded $20 million from American Idol bosses to stay on the judging panel of the hit TV show.
The 47 year old is in negotiations with TV executives to resume her place on the series for the 2010 season, alongside Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara Dioguardi.
And now new reports claim the reason behind Abdul's delayed signing for the show is because she is demanding $20 million - $10 million more than bosses are willing to offer her, according to RadarOnline.com.

I dont even think they would offer her $20million if she was wearing $15million in jewelry on every episode... Paula better get in where she fits in and be grateful to have a job in this recession. Good for David, but honestly what else does he have to do?! Hunger is a real problem here in america though, People are working and still can't afford to buya bag of groceries for their children. Between Snickers/Arquette, they shude really focus more of their energy on persuading companies to lower food prices and offer more healthful alternatives. Additionally, grocers should support more local producers/products; honey, breads, herbs, veggies, meats, cheeses, all taste better when they come from the farm just up the road.

Beyonce is back with another track from her latest effort "sasha fierce". I think this is the first track that was leaked last fall. Back then everyone was calling it "beautiful nitemare" for some reason. either way, mtv was running a promo starting early this morning say that they're going to premiere the video today. This video is very much in keeping with the theme of her album (simple sets, three dancers, basic colours, dance driven videos). i like the song, the costume changes and the dance moves. especially the move around [1:30] she brought a little [stank] to the video and i liked it!

honestly, does any of this suprise anyone? kfed has always been willing to sit back and live off of others. I'm just suprised b.spe gives him almost half a million dollars a year to take care of their kid and get fat. she could have hired a nanny for like a thousand dollars a month and a bowl of rice... just goes to show you gotta be careful about who you sleep with.... maybe this is all being done in a effort to get onto "celebrity fitclub", in that case it wouldn't be considered unhealthy, it would be considered a smart business decision!

The entire world had its collective eye trained on Los Angeles, California today in order to see the memorial ceremony for michael jackson; a great musician, a great father, a humanitarian, and just an all around wonderful person..
Let this man BE GREAT because honestly, he's gonna be great either way and you look pathetic and sad if you say anything to the contrary. Elvis was a celebrity/known to some, but Michael was a KING and an amazing artist/known to all. Michael Jackson we lurve you soo much, your music, your spirit and your truth will go on forever.
